Smart WP Labs was born from frustration. Frustration with WordPress plugins that promise the world for free, then lock every useful feature behind a paywall. Frustration with bloated code that turns a fast site into a slow one. Frustration with “support” that’s really just a chatbot reading from a script.
We decided to build what we wanted to use ourselves: honest tools at fair prices, written by a developer who actually answers support questions.
Every feature we add has to earn its place. We don’t add options to check a box on a comparison chart. We don’t build settings panels with 47 toggles because “flexibility.” Every line of code exists because it solves a real problem that real store owners actually have.
This philosophy keeps our plugins fast, reliable, and easy to use. It also means we say “no” a lot — and that’s by design.
Honesty over hype. We’ll tell you exactly what our plugins do and don’t do. No inflated feature lists, no misleading screenshots, no fake reviews.
Ownership over renting. We build our own tools instead of depending on third-party services that can change their pricing or terms overnight. We encourage our customers to do the same.
Simple over clever. The smartest code is the code you don’t have to write. We keep things simple because simple things break less.
Fair pricing always. No free tier as bait. No sudden price increases. No “introductory rates” that triple on renewal. The price you see is the price you pay, and it stays that way.
Smart WP Labs is a one-person operation run by Brian Chaney out of Pensacola, Florida. Every plugin is designed, built, tested, and supported by the same person — which means when you ask a question, you’re talking to the developer who wrote the code.
That’s not a limitation. That’s the whole point.
