Features

Everything you need, nothing you don't

Proper 410 Responses

Tell search engines a product is gone - not just missing. The SEO-correct way to handle discontinued inventory.

Auto-Deletion Rules

A configurable retention period (default 3 months) after which discontinued products are cleaned up automatically.

Hit Tracking

See how many times each discontinued product URL is still being accessed, so you know what still draws traffic.

Feed Integration

Works with WP All Import: define per-feed conditions (availability flags, stock fields) and imports mark products discontinued automatically.

Custom 410 Page

Show a branded page built with any editor or builder while still sending the proper 410 status, with a configurable Continue Shopping link.

Bulk Management

Mark products discontinued from the product list bulk actions, by CSV upload, or by pasting SKUs.

The Problem

When products get discontinued, WooCommerce shows a generic 404 page. Search engines waste crawl budget on dead URLs, customers hit dead ends, and your SEO suffers. Most store owners either leave broken pages up or redirect everything to the homepage – neither solution is clean.

The Solution

SWPL Discontinued Products returns proper HTTP 410 (“Gone”) status codes, telling search engines definitively that the product no longer exists. This is the correct, SEO-recommended way to handle removed content: search engines de-index 410 pages faster and your Search Console reports stay clean.

How It Works

When a product is marked as discontinued (manually, in bulk, by CSV or SKU list, or automatically via your supplier feed), the plugin takes over. Instead of a 404 error, visitors see a clean “this product has been discontinued” page – the built-in one or any page you design with your builder – with a configurable Continue Shopping link. Search engines get the 410 signal. After a configurable retention period the product can be deleted automatically.

Feed Integration

If you run product feeds from suppliers, the plugin integrates with WP All Import. Define your discontinued conditions per feed – for example, when a supplier’s availability flag is false and quantity is zero – and imports handle discontinuation automatically.
